FRAMES - Hardwood, of course, and birch or beech. Some ply is used for increased stability to the structure. The woods we use are from sustainable sources - mainly the Baltic states. All our frames are glued and screwed.
SEAT CUSHIONS - These are cold cure moulded foam, made for us in Oldham. A moulded cushion has an integral skin which gives greater strength to the shape of the cushion - avoiding loss of shape and texture. These cushions use a high resilience polymer which creates a sit-in feel without losing the benefits of comfort and durability. BACK CUSHION INNERS - A really dense hollowfibre, procured from the Midlands. Comfortable without compromising support. Feather inners are available at an additional cost - please contact us for details and pricing.
SPRINGING - Our sofas and armchairs use serpentine springs in the seats.
SOFABED ACTIONS - Made by Sedac-Mecobel in Belgium, with sprung and memory foam mattresses manufactured for us in the UK.
The standard actions comprise a metal framework with a polypropylene base and a hi-density foam mattress.
Deluxe actions have a superior quality metal frame with a mix of sprung, beech slats and webbing - thus ensuring a deeper and softer seat when being used as a sofa.
